History, origin & features
Originally from the French-Belgian border, in the Ardennes region, the Bouvier des Ardennes was mainly used to track deer and wild boar in the 19th century, but is best known as a cattle dog. The Bouvier des Ardennes is a herding dog par excellence: attentive, courageous and enduring, it will not hesitate to protect its herd from possible threats. Highly affectionate towards his master, his docile, playful nature will also delight his family. These small to medium-sized dogs are very dynamic, compact and robust, with a stocky appearance. Their dry, rough, tousled coat protects them in all weathers. It can be any color, but only white is not accepted.
