The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is an ancient breed that originated in Asian Turkey. Anatolian Shepherd Dogs are distinguished by their wise, thoughtful nature. Highly intelligent and docile, Anatolian Shepherd Dogs are totally devoted to their master, even if they are admittedly independent and rather wary of strangers.
Very easy to train, they are excellent companions, perfectly suited to family life. Anatolian Shepherd Dogs are large, with a proud gait and a powerful, vigorous appearance. Their coat is short or semi-long, generally varying in length depending on the climate. It is dense with a thick undercoat. All coat colors are possible.
