White Swiss Shepherd Dog

History, origin & features

Excluded from the litters of German Shepherds, white Swiss Shepherds became a breed in their own right when they began to be bred separately, first in Canada in the early 1900s, then in Europe, notably in Switzerland from the 1970s onwards, hence their current name. White Swiss Shepherds are characterized by their affectionate, loyal nature. Unable to tolerate solitude, its intelligence and sociability have made it a true working companion (avalanche dog, guide dog, anti-drug dog, etc.).
Docile and playful, the White Swiss Shepherd is also an excellent companion dog. Physically similar to its namesake, the German Shepherd, the White Swiss Shepherd is a medium-sized, robust, muscular dog. Their coat is double, short, medium or long. Their white coat contrasts well with their dark eyes.
