History, origin & features
Dutch Schapendoes are particularly intelligent, independent, attentive and obedient dogs - all the qualities required of a good watchdog. They are affectionate animals, very attached to their master, with a cheerful temperament. These dogs have a slim build and athletic physique, concealed by a fairly dense fleece. The coat is long and wavy, with a harsh texture. The coat can be any color, although it is most often gray or black.
