Field Spaniel

History, origin & features

The Field Spaniel, a British breed, is a cross between the Sussex Spaniel, the Black and Tan Spaniel and the English Springer Spaniel, to which it owes its dark coat. Their morphology is similar to that of the English Cocker Spaniel, although they are considerably taller and fatter. Field Spaniels are retrievers and retrievers of waterfowl in particular. Field Spaniels are docile, sensitive, cheerful, independent and curious dogs. They are active and tireless, very playful and sociable. They make excellent pets. Graceful and elegant, Field Spaniels have a supple, hardy physique. Their long, dense coat protects them from humidity, but is also silky and glossy, forming bangs on the legs, chest and belly. Its coat is dark, systematically black, brown or roan.
