Japanese Spaniel

History, origin & features

The Japanese Spaniel is a small dog reminiscent of the Pekingese. Its coat is white with black or brown patches, and long and silky. Intelligent, loyal and discreet, they bark very little. Well-suited to life in an apartment, their owners must be available, as they don't like to be alone. A little wary of strangers, they get on well with children and were once the favorite companion of Japanese nobles. Its name “chin” means “royal” in Japanese. They are dynamic, endearing and affectionate dogs that are mainly trained through play. The Japanese Spaniel is an excellent pet that will bring great happiness to its owner.
