English springer spaniel

History, origin & features

The English Springer Spaniel is a hunting dog of British origin, specialized as a game-lifter and brushcutter, but also as a water dog. A cousin of the Cocker Spaniel, the breed has been accurately described since the 16th century. Easy to live with, docile and friendly, English Springer Spaniels are real cream puppies that need human companionship. Tenacious, enduring and obedient, English Springers are athletic animals that need attention and regular exercise. However, some dogs can be fearful and aggressive, so it's important to socialize them from an early age to facilitate cohabitation. This medium-sized dog has a strong yet harmonious and graceful physique, with long legs. English Springer Spaniels are also characterized by their medium-length coat, floppy ears and two-tone coloring (brown and white or black and white).
