History, origin & features
The Argentinean Mastiff is a very recent breed that originated in central Argentina:
It was created in the early 20th century by Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, who made numerous crosses between the Cordoba fighting dog, Mastiffs, Mastiffs, Bulldogs and Bull Terriers.
Initially used to hunt runaway slaves, they were later used as hunting, police and avalanche dogs.
The Argentinian Mastiff is distinguished by its white coat, which has been specially worked to make it easily recognizable in the wild. Dominant, courageous and tenacious, the Argentinean Mastiff has a strong character: it needs a confident master capable of training it firmly. It's important to choose a breeder carefully, to ensure that your dog is sociable and shows no signs of aggression. Strong, agile and powerful, they have an athletic physique characterized by short hair and an immaculate white coat.
Argentinian Mastiffs are large and impressive, with a proud, noble stature;
Their coat is exclusively white.
