Dalmatian

History, origin & features

The Dalmatian became fashionable during the Victorian era. It was later used as a show, hunting and circus dog. It was also used to carry messages during the Balkan and World Wars. In the United States, it is also the mascot of the fire department. Friendly, the Dalmatian has a pleasant disposition. Sociable and stable, they are neither suspicious nor aggressive. Intelligent, playful and independent, Dalmatians are easy to train. Elegant, long and muscular, Dalmatians are most famous for their white coats with rounded black or brown patches. The coat is short and glossy.
