Long-haired Collie (Collie)

History, origin & features

Originating in northern England and Scotland, this breed was a favorite of Queen Victoria. In 1881, the Collie Club Committee drew up the first breed standard for Rough and Smooth Collies. The long-haired Collie is highly intelligent and versatile. They sometimes tend to be shy, so from an early age, encourage them to socialize with humans (take them with you to markets, invite friends and family, make a few appointments at the puppy school...).
Docile and athletic, he'll be an ideal companion for your children, as well as a good watchdog. Medium-sized, the Collie is a handsome dog that exudes elegance and suppleness. Its coat is long, abundant, supple and stiff. The color of its coat is mainly fawn, but other colors can be found. The Collie is best distinguished by its large white patches on certain parts of its body.
