German Pointing Dog with Long Hair

History, origin & features

The Deutsch Langhaar, or German Longhaired Pointer, has many origins: from crosses between various Germanic dogs, water dogs, Bracken and Oysels, it became a hunting dog of remarkable ability.
Purebred breeding began in 1879. His multiple origins have made him an outstanding hunter. Lively and versatile, they can adapt to any terrain and any game, although their specialty is pointing. With their balanced, calm temperament, they are totally devoted to their master, who will have no trouble training them. German Longhaired Pointers are medium-sized, muscular dogs with a very elegant appearance. They are not heavy; on the contrary, their fine bone structure accentuates this impression of lightness. The coat is longer in places, but no longer than 3.5 cm. The color varies from solid brown, bicolor white brown, truité, brown with tan spots.
